About the Natatorium

The Natatorium is an academic facility governed by the department of Health and Exercise Science and houses a 6-lane, 25-yard swimming pool holding 275,000 gals. of water.  It was constructed in 1974 and at one time hosted the NCAA Division II national championships. Numerous courses are conducted in the swimming pool ranging from basic swimming to American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Lifeguard Training Instructor, Water Safety Instructor and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (For more information on certification courses please contact our office.)  Truman's men's and women's swim teams use this facility for daily practices and hosting dual swim meets.   The Natatorium is open throughout the year for student, faculty and staff use as well as general public open swim.  For more information you may call 785-4470 or contact Jeff Arabas, Natatorium Director, at 785-4247 or email at jarabas@truman.edu.  We are located at the lowest southern end of Pershing Building next to the big red barn.
